Ceist:82 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Health the reasons an appointment for admission to a hospital (details supplied) in Dublin 1 of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7 for an operation which was due to take place on 30 September 1992, was cancelled; and if he will outline the action, if any, he intends to take to stop this outrageous practice whereby patients who are often fasting and prepared to enter hospital are only given hours notice of the cancellation of admission because of the unavailability of beds.
