Ceist:24 Mr. McGahon asked the Minister for the Environment when sanction will be given to the proposed housing scheme for Hyde Park in Dundalk, County Louth, in order to alleviate the serious housing crisis in Dundalk.

Dundalk Urban District Council have been asked to reconsider their proposals for a housing scheme at Hyde Park having regard to the desirability of avoiding the construction of a large estate of local authority housing, the design of the scheme and its high estimated cost. It was suggested that the Council should look at the possibilities of formulating proposals for a mix of housing usage on the site under the measures set out in A Plan for Social Housing.
