Vol. 424 No. 1

Written Answers. - Drogheda (Louth) Hospital.

Michael Bell

Ceist:

22 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Health the plans, if any, he has to give sanction for the provision of (a) a child care psychiatric unit, (b) facilities for social work services and (c) births, deaths and marriage registration facilities in the Fatima Unit at St. Mary's Hospital in Drogheda, County Louth; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have given approval to the provision by the North-Eastern Health Board of a child and adolescent psychiatric service and other child care services at St. Mary's Hospital, Drogheda, County Louth. I understand that the child care services will incorporate social work services.

The North Eastern Health Board does not propose to locate births, deaths and marriage registration facilities for County Meath at St. Mary's Hospital.
