Written Answers. - Youth Employment Training.

Séamus Cullimore

Ceist:

211 Mr. Cullimore asked the Minister for Labour the amount of finance that has been received to date from the Euro Social Fund for Youth Employment Training.

The operational programmes covering the occupational integration of young people, apprenticeship, vocational preparation training and training of young disabled people for the period 1990-93 relate specifically to young people.

Under the present round of Structural Funds, covering the period 1989-93 Ireland has been approved for a total of IR£535 million from the European Social Fund for these programmes. Receipts to date total IR£302 million.

Young people also benefit under other operational programmes, such as industry and services, tourism, agriculture and rural development. A total of IR£329 million has been received to date under these operational programmes in respect of 1990, 1991 and 1992.
