86 Mr. Cotter asked the Minister for the Environment the current status of the proposal to provide a new water source for Monaghan town; the expected timetable for completion on the project; the amount of grant aid he will provide; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Tenders for the development of six boreholes to establish the quantity of water from a new source for Monaghan town are under consideration in my Department. The question of finance for the proposed main scheme does not arise at this stage.
