(Limerick East): May I ask a question?
Supplementary Estimates, 1992. - Censorship of Films (Amendment) Bill, 1992 [Seanad]: Committee and Final Stages.
Certainly.
(Limerick East): Why is it necessary to do this in the interregnum?
The damage caused to the Irish public over Christmas——
(Limerick East): Will the people be hiring videos over Christmas of which the Government does not approve?
I have allowed a question but, strictly speaking, this Bill is to be decided without debate.
I understand that following strenuous discussions the Whips have agreed to try to conclude this Bill. Why they want to do it this evening rather than tomorrow morning. I do not know, but it is urgent that it be concluded before Christmas.
(Limerick East): Thank you, Minister.
I am now required to put the following question in accordance with an Order of An Dáil of this day: "That sections 1 to 6, inclusive, and the Title are hereby agreed to in Committee and the Bill is accordingly Reported to the House without amendment; that Fourth Stage is hereby completed and that the Bill is hereby passed."
Question agreed to.
A message will be sent to the Seanad acquainting it accordingly.
The Dáil adjourned at 5.35 p.m. until 10.30 on Wednesday, 16 December 1992.
