Ceist:

126 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for the Marine if he will provide sufficient funds for the Eastern Fisheries Board to enable it to recruit additional staff in the north-east area where the angling and commercial season started on 1st February, 1993 to enable it fight against poaching; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In finalising the allocation among fishery boards of the funds available for 1993 consideration will be given to the Eastern Fisheries Board's requirements for the recruitment of temporary protection staff in the Dundalk district.
