Vol. 426 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Jim Higgins

Ceist:

159 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when grants for headage and beef premia will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

The person named applied for grants under the 1992 cattle headage and special beef premium schemes.

At an inspection on 6 November 1992 he indicated he had sold all the animals on which he had applied for grants. He was asked to produce receipts and when these were produced it was found that one of them was in another person's name. Further investigation is necessary before a decision can be made on his eligibility for cattle headage and special beef premium grants.

Ceist:

160 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in the payment of a headage grant to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

The applications of the person named for grants under the 1992 cattle headage, suckler cow premium and special beef premium schemes are being processed at present and if found in order payments will be made shortly.

There was a change of ownership in this case and payments could not be processed until this was complete.

Andrew Boylan

Ceist:

161 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when headage and premia grants will be paid to a person (details supplied) and if he will make a statement on the delay in making payments in this case, in view of his commitment to have all payments made within the calendar year.

This applicant's 1992 beef cow and equines headage, suckler cow premium and special beef premium schemes grants are being processed at present and if found in order, payments will issue shortly. The delay in this case is due to the heavy work load in the local office.

Andrew Boylan

Ceist:

162 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when headage and premia grants will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cavan; if his attention has been drawn to the hardship being caused to this person and his family because of the delay in making payment.

The person named is not the registered owner of the herd number quoted. However, the registered herdowner's applications for grants under the 1992 beef cow and equines headage, suckler cow premium and special beef premium schemes are being processed at present and if found in order payments will issue shortly.
