Ceist:

202 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Education if, in the light of the commitments given in the Programme for a Partnership Government 1993-1997, she will approve a pre-school class at the Convent of Mercy national school, Ballina, Co. Mayo.

The matter of pre-school classes referred to in the Programme for a Partnership Government is currently being considered by my Department. Until such time as discussions have been completed it is not possible for me to sanction any pre-school posts.
