Ceist:

204 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Education if she has received representations recently from the County Wicklow Vocational Education Committee requesting the use of Blessington Vocational School as a centre of learning and community development; and if, in view of the great need in the area for a local facility of this type, she will establish such a centre in the old school at Blessington.

My Department has received representations recently from the Co. Wicklow Vocational Education Committee, on behalf of the Blessington District and Community Council, to retain the school as a centre of learning and community development.

These representations are under active consideration in my Department at present and it is hoped to contact the VEC in the matter shortly.
