Ceist:89 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for the Environment when funds will be made available for the Skreen/Dromard group water scheme in County Sligo; when work will commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Sligo Group Water Scheme.
Group scheme grants and contributions from members are unlikely to suffice to finance this scheme which, in consequence, would require a substantial contribution from the provision for public water and sanitary services schemes. Having regard to the high unit costs involved, it would not be practicable to approve the scheme in its present form.
My Department are currently examining the feasibility of sectioning the scheme into a number of units to be developed on a phased basis.
