Vol. 426 No. 5

Written Answers. - Ministerial Appointments.

Peter Barry

Ceist:

134 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for the Environment the number of advisers appointed to his office, their suitability for the job, and their background and training; if these positions were advertised; the contracts on which they were appointed; the amounts paid to each individual; and the role each, or any particular group, will play in formulating or implementing Government policy.

I refer to my reply to Questions Nos. 226 and 120 on 10 and 16 February respectively. The salary, role, or contract of my special adviser has not changed since then. In accordance with custom and practice, the person in question was selected by me on the basis of his suitability for the job.
