Ceist:

283 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the policy changes, if any, which underpin the increases or decreases in the sub-heads in Votes controlled by his Department; and if he will make a statement on whether increased or reduced services will be provided by his Department in 1993.

The Deputy will be aware that my Department was established only recently as a new initiative, which, in itself, is indicative of policy change, as outlined in the Programme for a Partnership Government. The sub-heads of the Vote for my Department must be seen in that general context.
