285 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if he will supply Deputy Sargent with a list of EC Directives, relevant to his Department, which have been signed by the Council but not yet due for transposition into Irish law; and when they are expected to be transposed.

286 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if he will supply Deputy Sargent with a list of EC recommendations and regulations relevant to his Department issued during 1991; and the action, if any, taken on them.

287 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if he will supply Deputy Sargent with a list of EC Directives relevant to his Department which are overdue for transposition into Irish law; and the expected date of their transportation.

In the case of my Department, there is only one EC Directive which falls within the compass of the Deputy's Questions. The relevant details are as follows:

Council Directive 89/552/EC of 3 October 1989 Pursuit of Broadcasting Activities	3.10.91	Mainly implemented on date required.
	Administrative action to be taken to finalise implementation of the Directive shortly.

There were no EC recommendations and regulations relevant to my Department issued during 1991. However, a number of resolutions were adopted by the Ministers for Culture, meeting within the Council during 1991, as follows:

(1) Resolution of the Council and the Ministers for Culture, meeting within the Council of 7 June, 1991 on the training of arts administrators; (2) Resolution of the Ministers for Culture, meeting within the Council, of 7 June, 1991 on the temporary access of artists of European Community origin to the territory of the United States of America; (3) Resolution of the Ministers for Culture, meeting within the Council, of 7 June, 1991 on the development of the theatre in Europe; (4) Resolution of the Council and the Ministers for Culture, meeting within the Council, of 14 November, 1991 on European cultural networks, and (5) Resolution of the Council and the Ministers for Culture, meeting within the Council, of 14 November, 1991 on arrangements concerning archives.
