Vol. 426 No. 5

Written Answers. - Genealogical Research Facilities.

Frances Fitzgerald

Ceist:

304 Ms F. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Health the arrangements, if any, he has made to ensure that records necessary for genealogical research are available in Dublin in the event that the General Register Office is re-located in Roscommon town.

Officials of my Department have been examining in detail all the options for effecting the relocation of the General Register Office to Roscommon town. Decisions have to be made in relation to various aspects of the project, not least the arrangements to be made for genealogical research. I hope to be able to make such decisions in the near future.
