Ceist:145 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Health the plans, if any, he has to extend the ban on smoking in public places; and if he will introduce a ban on smoking in the workplace.
Written Answers. - Smoking Ban.
My Department is currently reviewing the Tobacco (Health Promotion and Protection) Regulations, 1990, and in this context I will be considering the situation regarding controls on smoking in the workplace. A voluntary code of practice governing smoking in the workplace has been agreed with relevant organisations, such as ICTU and the FIE, and this has been circulated widely for implementation.
