Ceist:46 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will give a list of services that will be provided through Irish, or bilingually, by his Department in 1993 and by the end of 1994.

While there are no services provided exclusively through Irish my Department can, as required, facilitate the conduct of its business through Irish. In addition some of the forms issued in connection with disease eradication programmes are bilingual and arrangements are being made to have bilingual forms available for other schemes in 1993 and 1994.
Coiste Forbartha na Gaeilge which has been functioning for some years in the Department organises weekly classes for staff with particular emphasis on offices in the Gaeltacht areas as well as providing dictionaries, books and newspapers in Irish.
