28 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade if his attention has been drawn to the difficulties being experienced by CERT trainees in getting placements; and if he will take steps to ensure that additional placements are made available.
Placement of trainees is, of course, the responsibility of CERT who advise me that their current estimates for final placement for last year are 100% for school leaver trainees and 75-80% for those recruited for re-training from the ranks of the unemployed. CERT have increased their annual in-take by some 25% since 1989.
