Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given to me under Standing Order 20 (3) (A) and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy John O'Donoghue — The present position in relation to the proposed rationalisation of second-level schools in Kerry, and in particular those located in Caherciveen, Kenmare and Rathmore; (2) Deputy Frances Fitzgerald — The rights of tenants in the Mespil flats complex, formerly owned by Irish Life, who are being served with eviction notices by the new owner; (3) Deputy Robert Molloy — The action which can be taken within the existing tax code to minimise taxation of lump sum redundancy payments to help redundant Digital workers and others to clear mortgages, etc; (4) Deputy Michael Ferris — The proposals, if any, the Minister for Health has to set up a national programme for treatment of alcoholism which would bring together various strands of expertise in the country; (5) Deputy Hugh Byrne — The matter of Raheen national school, County Wexford and the non-inclusion of its refurbishment in the Book of Estimates for 1993; (6) Deputy Batt O'Keeffe — In view of the existence of accommodation surplus to requirements within health boards, the need for the Minister for Health to exhort management to consider leasing or entering a joint venture for the purpose of providing nursing home care for elderly persons at an affordable cost; (7) An Teachta Donnchadh Mac Fhionnlaoich — An ráiteas ag an deireadh seachtaine seo chaite go bhfuil tionscail Garn Teo, Árd a Rátha, i nDún na nGall ag dúnadh le 20 duine ag cailleadh a bpostanna agus chun iarraidh ar an Aire Ealaíon, Cultúir agus Gaeltachta agus ar Údarás na Gaeltachta gníomhú láithreach chun na postanna a chosaint agus a chaomhnú; (8) Deputy Jimmy Deenihan — The alarming increase in youth homelessness in Dublin and other large urban areas; (9) Deputy Michael Finucane — If the Minister for Education will clarify the future educational role of Stella Maris convent secondary school, Foynes, County Limerick, beyond 1995, in view of the withdrawal of the religious community and the decision not to accept first year students from September 1993; (10) Deputy Pat Rabbitte — The discovery of major inaccuracies in official Government statistics which overstated the strength of the Irish economy over the past five years.
