Ceist:117 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Justice if she will request the land registry to expedite registration of a holding for a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the application in question is for registration of a Land Commission Schedule and was lodged in the Land Registry on 25 February, 1993.
Due to the pressure of work in the Land Registry generally, finalisation of an application of the kind in question here would in the ordinary way take some time. I am informed, however, that it is the policy of the Land Registry to try, as far as possible, to expedite cases in which it can be established that special circumstances of urgency exist. Any such cases will be specially considered if details of the reasons for urgency are submitted to the Registrar of Titles.
