180 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Defence the annual cost for each of the years 1975, 1980, 1985, 1989, 1990 and 1991 of the Reserve Defence Force; and if he will give a breakdown of pay and allowances for PDF and First Line Reserve.

Expenditure on the Reserve Defence Force for the years 1975, 1980, 1985, 1989, 1990 and 1991 was as follows:

The 1993 provision for the Permanent Defence Force is £228,005,000 for pay and £25,390,000 for allowances. The provision for the First Line Reserve is £90,000 for gratuities.
