255 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the number of people who are members of Fianna Fáil or the Labour Party appointed by him and the Minister(s) of State at his Department since assuming office; and the position held by each of these people in the relevant political party.
Excluding civil servants to whom I assume this question does not refer, I have appointed three persons who are members of the Labour Party, namely my partnership programme manager who is a constituency organiser and my special adviser and personal assistant both of whom are ordinary members of the Labour Party.
As I have previously stated in this House, no Minister of State has been appointed to my Department.
