267 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health if he proposes to introduce regulations requiring hospitals to take responsibility for prescribing expensive hi-tech treatments for patients being discharged to the care of general practitioners.
The initiation of expensive prescribing in hospitals has been identified as a source of concern by many general practitioners. This area is one which is currently being examined by the National Therapeutics Advisory Committee and I expect to receive their report in the near future.
