Vol. 427 No. 6

Written Answers. - Rathkeale (Limerick) School.

Gerard Collins

Ceist:

313 Mr. Collins asked the Minister for Education if she will make a statement with regard to the current status of the proposal to build a new second level school in Rathkeale, County Limerick; whether she has made financial provision for this school in 1993; and if not whether she will allow tenders for the contract of the school to be finalised before the end of 1993 so that work on the project can actually begin on the site early in 1994.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

314 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Education if funding has been provided for a post-primary school (details supplied) in County Limerick; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos 313 and 314 together.

Architectural planning of the project is proceeding and approval was given to the County Limerick Vocational Education Committee in January 1993, to prepare the stage 4/5 documentation (Detail Design/Contract Documents).
It has not been possible for me to include this project in the 1993 second level capital programme because of other demands deemed to be of a higher priority which had to take precedence. It will continue to be considered for inclusion in the programme in the light of available resources and other commitments and priorities.
