Vol. 427 No. 6

Written Answers. - Dunshaughlin (Meath) Community College.

Mary Wallace

Ceist:

328 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the shortage of post-primary school places in South County Meath where the only community college in Dunshaughlin must refuse pupils for September 1994; if her attention has further been drawn to the fact that, due to the non-allocation of £190,000 to build a school extension required to address the imbalance in the curriculum which has been brought about due to lack of space, the school must refuse vocational education to pupils and insist on academic education.

The planning of additional accommodation at this school is currently in progress. It has not been possible to include the proposed extension at this school in the 1993 second level programme because of other demands deemed to be of a higher priority which had to take precedence. The project will continue to be considered for inclusion in the programme in the light of available resources and other commitments and priorities.
