331 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Education if she has received a request from the board of management of a school (details supplied) in County Clare to discuss the difficulties being experienced by students and teachers; and, if so, when this meeting will take place.
I have received representations on behalf of the board of management of the school in County Clare referred to by the Deputy to meet a deputation to discuss the school's building project.
I have considered this matter and I have decided that no useful purpose would be served by meeting a deputation at this time.
The Deputy will be aware that it was not possible, because of other demands deemed to be of higher priority which had to take precedence, to include this project in the Primary Schools Capital Programme in 1993. It will continue to be sympathetically considered for inclusion in the programme in due course.
