Vol. 427 No. 6

Written Answers. - Foreign Travel.

Ceist:

63 Mr. Kenny asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs the areas he intends to visit as Minister for Foreign Affairs on behalf of the Government, which have now been arranged for 1993; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In so far as business related to the European Communities is concerned I envisage a certain amount of travel — especially to Brussels, Luxembourg, and Denmark — arising from attendance at the European Council, Council meetings, and related discussions.

Similarly, there will be visits to Strasbourg in the framework of the Council of Europe and a meeting in Rome of the CSCE Council. I will be attending the UN General Assembly in September.
In relation to Anglo-Irish issues I will be attending meetings of the Intergovernmental Conference and fulfilling other travel commitments as they arise.
Apart from the visits referred to in this reply, other journeys are under consideration or may be required by circumstances which arise. These visits will be made known as and when arrangements are made.
