Vol. 427 No. 8

Written Answers. - Clonakilty (Cork) School.

P. J. Sheehan

Ceist:

106 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Education when she will allocate funding to provide a new boys national school for Clonakilty, County Cork; and if her attention has been drawn to the fact that almost 200 children are in five small school rooms in the present old school house with poor ventilation and no playground facilities.

It was not possible, because of other demands deemed to be of higher priority which had to take precedence, to include this project in the Primary Schools Capital Programme in 1993. I am aware of the conditions in the school. Consideration will be given to the inclusion of this project involving the provision of a new school in the National Schools Programme for 1994 in the light of the capital resources available and other commitments and priorities.
