303 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if there are any agri-tourism grants available for the provision of equestrian centres or if there is any other grant available for the provision of these; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The development of equestrian centres is one of the activities eligible for aid under the agri-tourism scheme which is operated by my Department. However, due to the demand for funding under this scheme, the allocation provided under the present round of Structural Funds has been fully committed.
I expect the agri-tourism scheme to be continued under the next round of Structural Funds. In the meantime, equestrian centres could be eligible for grant aid under Leader where a Leader group's plan provides for such a project.
