123 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Education if the third-level grant regulations of 1992 will apply retrospectively; if all new entrants will be assessed under all the new regulations; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
The 1992 third level student grant schemes incorporate a range of significant improvements and apply to all those students who were new entrants to approved courses in third level institutions in the 1992/93 academic year. In addition, those schemes also apply to all mature students (both new entrants and existing students) pursuing approved courses in third-level institutions in the 1992/93 academic year. Otherwise, the regulations in the 1992 schemes do not have retrospective effect.
