Ceist:60 Miss Quill asked the Minister for Finance the estimates of the probable level of employment and unemployment during 1993; and if he will give details of the policy basis on which these estimates are made.
Written Answers. - Employment Forecasts.
I refer the Deputy to the Principal Features of the 1993 Budget which include a forecast of an average increase of 3,000 in total employment in 1993 as compared with 1992 and an average Live Register forecast of 309,000, an increase of some 26,000 as compared with the 1992 out-turn.
The policy basis for these forecasts are the policies set out in my Budget Statement on 24 February last and in the Estimates published in the week preceding the budget.
