83 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Finance if, in view of the most recent projections for a substantial drop in interest rates the National Treasury Management Agency will be able to obtain greater savings in the servicing of the national debt; and if so, if he will make revised projections in this regard.

The projected debt service cost for 1993 of £2,490 million included in the budget assumed that interest rates would fall over the course of the year. In the circumstances the question of revising the 1993 budget provision for servicing the national debt does not arise at this stage.
