Vol. 428 No. 5

Written Answers. - County Cork Road Works.

Ned O'Keeffe

Ceist:

123 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for the Environment if he will instruct a local authority to build a roundabout on a by-pass road (details supplied) in County Cork.

Following representations on the matter, the question of providing a roundabout at the eastern end of the Carrigtwohill By-Pass has been reviewed by Cork County Council and my Department and both are satisfied that traffic into and out of Carrigtwohill will be adequately catered for by planned interchanges south and west of Carrigtwohill. In addition, it is considered that a roundabout would introduce an unnecessary hazard on this stretch of road.
