Vol. 428 No. 5

Written Answers. - County Tipperary Traffic Hazard.

Theresa Ahearn

Ceist:

125 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for the Environment if he will provide safety measures to cope with the traffic hazard outside the residence of a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Tipperary (S.R.) County Council has no proposals for improvement works at this location. I understand, however, that some years ago the council installed rumble strips, on an experimental basis, to improve safety at this location and that these have proved very successful in curtailing traffic speed. In addition, the council propose to provide double yellow lines from the junction of Deerpark Road to Boherclough Street to join the existing yellow lines on that street.
