Ceist:

59 Mr. Connaughton asked the Taoiseach the amount, tonnage and value of imported cooked meats and sausage products in 1991 and 1992.

Imports of cooked meats are not separately distinguished in the Customs and Excise Tariff of Ireland.

The available information relates to imports or sausages and similar products of meat, meat offal or blood; food preparations based on these products and is given in the following table:

In general it should be noted that commodity detail from external trade statistics does not include:—
(a) transactions (non-dutiable) of less than £200 each.
(b) trade by firms operating in Shannon Free Airport.
