Vol. 428 No. 5

Written Answers. - Dunshaughlin (Meath) Garda Station.

Mary Wallace

Ceist:

99 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Justice if her attention has been drawn to the poor condition of the Garda station at Dunshaughlin in County Meath where the ceiling recently collapsed; the proposals, if any, she has to provide an updated building at this location; and the estimated cost of those proposals, if any.

The Office of Public Works has been asked to carry out a structural survey of the Garda station at Dunshaughlin, County Meath. On receipt of this report, the options for meeting the accommodation needs at this location will be considered.

The collapse of a section of the ceiling, to which the Deputy refers, occurred following a storm and in an area of the building no longer occupied by the gardaí. The damage has since been repaired.
