Written Answers. - Provision of Additional Classrooms.

174 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Education the reason the sanctioning of two classrooms for 1 September 1992, at a school (details supplied) in Dublin 15 has not been proceeded with; the reason correspondence (details supplied) to her on the subject has not been replied to; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The Department has approved the provision of two semi-permanent prefabricated classrooms at the school in question to cater for increased enrolments. Planning permission has been received from the local authority, but a fire safety certificate, required in accordance with the fire safety regulations of the Building Control Act, 1990, is still awaited.
