103 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Health his views on the recommendation of the Second Commission on the Status of Women that the Health Promotion Unit of his Department should launch a publicity campaign to encourage eligible spouses of PRSI workers to avail of low cost dental treatment; and the plans, if any, he has in relation to this recommendation.
The question of promoting services available to eligible persons under the Social Welfare schemes is a matter, in the first instance, for my colleague the Minister for Social Welfare. My Department's Health Promotion Unit is however involved in a range of initiatives aimed at promoting better dental hygiene for the wider population in conjunction with the Health Boards and the Irish Dental Health Foundation.
