Ceist:237 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Health the reason the holder of a medical card cannot use the card for incontinent sheets and other medical supplies when they are a long time patient in a private nursing home.

Under existing arrangements, health boards regard the provision of incontinence sheets to patients with medical cards in private nursing homes as a matter between the nursing home proprietor and the patient.
Regarding the provision of other medical supplies, health boards assess such cases on an individual basis.
