Vol. 430 No. 6

Written Answers. - Public Parks By-Laws.

Chris Flood

Ceist:

84 Mr. Flood asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received draft parks by-laws from Dublin County Council for his consideration and approval; the date he received them; the public parks they refer to; and if he is in a position to approve them as they are urgently required by many residents living near public parks where serious anti-social activity occurs, particularly at night.

Mary Harney

Ceist:

86 Miss Harney asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received a copy of the proposed by-laws made by Dublin County Council in respect of the public parks in Tallaght, Dublin 24; when he received these by-laws; if, in view of the problems that have arisen in these parks, he will have these by-laws confirmed as a matter of urgency; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 84 and 86 together.

Last January, my Department provisionally approved draft by-laws to be made by Dublin County Council in relation to the Dodder Valley Linear Park. I understand that the council are currently considering extending the scope of the proposed by-laws to include a number of additional parks. When I receive a formal proposal from the council, it will be dealt with expeditiously.
