Ceist:98 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Education the number of schools which have applied for the appointment of a remedial teacher; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Remedial Teachers.
One thousand and forty-eight schools have applied for the services of a remedial teacher on an individual or shared basis.
Decisions in relation to the allocation of the additional eighty remedial teachers from September, 1993 have not yet been finalised.
However, I hope to be in a position shortly to approve the schools to whom an allocation will be made and schools which will benefit will be notified as quickly as possible.
