Vol. 430 No. 7

Written Answers. - Structural Funds.

Robert Molloy

Ceist:

58 Mr. Molloy asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will give the name of each organisation that submitted proposals or was consulted by his Department in relation to the preparation of plans to be submitted to the European Community for Structural Fund assistance; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Department of Foreign Affairs is not involved in the administration of Structural Fund assistance, nor in consultations within Ireland on the drawing up of the national plan, on the basis of which the future funding will be distributed.

The Minister of State in the Office of the Tánaiste is also Minister of State in the Department of Finance and is actively engaged in drawing up the plan. The question of submissions and consultations in this connection is being dealt with by the Minister for Finance, to whom a similar question has been addressed.
