Written Answers. - Cost of Probate Tax.
I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the administrative procedures to be employed in the handling of the Probate Tax will be designed to minimise compliance costs. It is estimated that the administration of the tax will require the assignment of 8 staff to the relevant section of the Capital Taxes Branch. The estimated annual cost (inclusive of overheads) is £180,000.
