Vol. 430 No. 8

Written Answers. - Proposed Legislation.

Richard Bruton

Ceist:

151 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if he will give a list of the areas of proposed legislation as a result of the Culliton report, the Moriarty report and the Government's response to these reports.

The Government's response to the report of the Industrial Policy Review Group, the Culliton report, and to the report of the Task Force established to advise on the implementation of the Culliton report, the Moriarty report, was set out in the document Employment through Enterprise which I published on 3 May, copies of which are available in the Library of this House.

In the areas for which I have responsibilities, I can say that legislation will be needed to give effect to the new structure of the industrial development and promotion agencies and for the establishment of a new certification Body for Training and Education courses.

It is a matter for each Minister implementing changes mandated by Government as set out in the publication "Employment through Enterprise" to determine whether or not legislation will be required to give effect to the particular changes.
