Ceist:

30 Mr. Cullen asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the number of public servants in the Department of Foreign Affairs that have been permanently or temporarily assigned to his Department; his views on whether temporary assignments are satisfactory; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Seven officers were transferred on secondment from the Department of Foreign Affairs to my Department in January in conjunction with the assignment to it of responsibility for foreign earnings functions. I am satisfied that the secondment arrangement is operating satisfactorily.
