Ceist:

113 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the implications, if any, which arise from a European Commission decision made on 4 May 1993, that there will be a substantial increase in funding to promote equal treatment between men and women and that it will be in the 1994 draft budget; and if he has any plans to spend the portion payable to Ireland.

I will examine the implications of any increase in funding under the European Community budget in respect of my area of responsibility, with the objective of maximising the national benefit from any such allocation.
