Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matter in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Allen — Whether the proposed new Bord Bia will be located in Blarney, County Cork, as this would project an appropriate image for such an organisation; (2) Deputy Deasy — The ongoing destruction of the habitats of nesting birds and wildlife in general; (3) Deputy Connaughton — The funding of the new sewerage scheme at Williamstown, County Galway; (4) Deputy Durkan — The subject matter of Parliamentary Question No. 82 to the Minister for Social Welfare on 20 May 1993; (5) Deputy Flaherty — The steps, if any, the Minister for Finance is taking to avoid a total shutdown in public services in view of the industrial action now proposed by the two major public service unions; (6) Deputy Shatter — The State's failure to comply with Article 42.4 of the Constitution to provide free primary education for mentally handicapped children, as determined by the High Court on Thursday 27 May 1993; and the action now required; (7) Deputy Jim Higgins — The probability of multiple claims by mentally handicapped children and their parents and guardians against the Minister for Education and the Minister for Health in the light of the High Court judgment of 27 May that the State was in breach of the requirements of Article 42.4 of the Constitution to provide adequate free primary education for mentally handicapped children; (8) Deputy Deenihan — The need for action to project tourists from physical attacks and robberies in view of the potential damage to the Irish tourism industry; (9) Deputy Hogan — The damage being inflicted on the angling business due to the inadequate patrolling of our waterways, particularly in respect of the Rivers Barrow, Nore and Suir; (10) An Teachta Éamon Ó Cuiv — An gá atá ann go ndéanfadh an tAire Oideachais an dara hoide a fhágáil i scoil náisiúnta Inis Meáin; (11) Deputy Crowley — The plans for the provision of a new primary school at Tullylease, Charleville, County Cork, as the existing conditions are unacceptable to parents, teachers and children and (12) Deputy Leonard — The need to examine the outturn of the 1989-93 operational programme for the northwest sub-region before funding for the 1994-97 programme is approved.

Selected for discussion are the matters raised by the following: (1) Deputy Leonard; (2) Deputy Flaherty; (3) Deputy Allen; and (4) Deputy Crowley.
