137 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health if he intends to make the necessary funds available to the Eastern Health Board for the upgrading of facilities at health centres in the board's functional area where population demands or other reasons require such improvements; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The Eastern Health Board has just completed a new health centre at Roundwood. The board is about to commence an extension at their health centre at Carnew. Officials from my Department are at present engaged in discussions with the board regarding the provision of a major new health centre for Swords, County Dublin. I am keeping the position regarding all health centres under review.
