Written Answers. - Commercial Rates Impact.
I am aware of one business organisation which has expressed its concerns regarding the impact of commercial rates on business operations. I also understand that representation to this effect were made last year by this organisation to the Minister for the Environment.
The Deputy will be aware of my announcement of the 21 April, 1993 setting up a Charter for Small Business. I have asked the Working Group which is being set up following this announcement to look at the problems of small business and I propose to refer the concerns expressed regarding the impact of business rates on employment prospects to this group for their considered views and any recommendations they may consider appropriate on the matter.
