Written Answers. - General Medical Services Scheme.
The Agreement of November 1992 between the Minister for Health and the Irish Medical Organisation on the arrangements for the provision of services under section 58 of the Health Act, 1970 provides for discussions between the relevant parties on the issue of entry by doctors to the General Medical Services scheme.
Discussions have commenced between my Department and the Irish Medical Organisation on entry to the scheme. Any change in the existing arrangements will await the outcome of these discussions and will be subject to agreement by the relevant parties.
